Jupiter Island Friends and Neighbors,
We wanted to remind everyone that Hurricane Season officially began June 1st . NOAA has announced they are predicting it will be, “the most aggressive hurricane season on record.” They recently announced a forecasting of an average of 17 to 25 named storms just this season.
Senior research scientist at CSU, Dr. Phil Klotsbach, told Fox Weather, “The Atlantic is still record warm in the tropical Atlantic, providing more fuel for storms.”Though they are unable to predict where and exactly when these storms will hit, FOX Weather Meteorologist Britta Merwin warned,”If you live on the coast, you have to be prepared to be impacted by a hurricane, and it only takes one. It doesn’t matter if it’s an overperforming year, or an underperforming year. If you get impacted, it will be the worst hurricane season you have been through.”
It is important to stay aware of how your home could be impacted this season. This is a great reminder to stay on high alert here as we move into the heart of hurricane season this summer.
Thank you for your continuing support of Jupiter Island Forever. We hope you are all enjoying summer on the island with family and friends.
Sincerely,
Jupiter Island Forever Leaders
